MY ART WORK
I am interested in working in many different media. I also like to facilitate others in creating works of art. I spend most of my creative time invoved in the creation of art instalations for worship and for the education program at my church. I have been privileged to work on a few town events, also.

I designed and created this piece for a charity art auction to benefit Habitat for Humanity- Women Build.

Using values strategically helped to create the optical illusion of 3 dimensions in this quilted wall hanging. Instructor: Merry May.

A local grammar school had a school wide event to see the sky in a portable skylab! This is the T-shirt design I created to commemorate the day.

The Nutley Clergy Association marched in the Memorial Day parade with "umbrellas for peace". Artist Wally Lamb started the umbrellas for peace movement with the belief that everyone had the right to live under the umbrella of peace. I was privileged to facilitate the making of the umbrellas that were carried in the Nutley parade.

This is the square that our church created for the Pathways to Peace chalk walk in Nutley. I designed this piece. It was also my privilege to serve on the committee for the event.

After a year studying the Biblical book of Genesis we made these giant banners depicting the 7 days of creation in Genesis. These are the first four days.

These are the fifth, sixth and seventh days. The seventh day is in the middle, the day God rested and saw that everything was good.

I designed this installation and facilitated the sanctuary artists in creating it. Linda Ribaudo, one of the women in our group, engineered the hanging of the installation.

This was a large acrylic panel that was suspended above the congregation and moved from the back of the sanctuary to the front a little bit each week during Lent.

On Palm Sunday the panel was hung down so the image was facing the congregation. The images were inspired by worship and every day images. Also, the work of artist Dale Chihuly was an inspiration for this piece.

On Easter the main piece was turned into a vertical panel and cross pieces were added. The piece was hung by Linda Ribaudo, one of our sanctuary artists.

This installation was created for a womens' retreat. The theme was transformation. The tree was painted on boxes so that it could be easily transported (and recycled!) At each of three worship services the tree changed. The butterfly was used as a symbol of transformation. The first piece had an origami caterpillar. Origaimi was chosen because the technique literally changes a 2-D piece of paper into a 3-D object.

The second piece was an origami chrysalis.

During the retreat the women were encouraged to create an origami butterfly. When the women walked into the worship space for the third session the butterflies that they created were not only on the cross (expected), but all over the room (surprise!). This added to a sense of surprise, and wonder that transformation can bring.
